Come back to Hickory Mound Impoundment on Big Bend WMA, reopening April 4

This area in Taylor County has been closed for construction since Jan. 2 to address damages done to the Hickory Mound Impoundment during Hurricane Hermine in September 2016. 

Guana River Dam improvements begin, with some areas closed during construction

March 14, 2018 

The improvements will address storm damage to the dam. Construction is scheduled to begin April 1 and continue through August, weather permitting.

New Critical Wildlife Area signs go up in Franklin County
